The socialist party will be holding its primary elections this Sunday to choose a new national party leader. The candidates are Andalusia’s president Susana Díaz, Basque Country politician Patxi López, and former leader Pedro Sánchez, who resigned on October 1st over the party’s abstinence vote which allowed Mariano Rajoy to become prime minister again. Voting will take place between 10am and 8pm on Sunday.
We should know the result after the counting of votes is completed later that night. The voting will be ratified at the PSOE Federal Congress between the 16th and 19th June.
